A Vietnamese court this morning sentenced former British glam rocker Gary Glitter to three years in prison for sexually abusing two underage girls.
The disgraced 1970s pop star was accused of molesting two local girls aged 11 and 12 last year at his rented seaside bungalow in the southern resort town of Vung Tau, a crime that carries a maximum penalty of seven years in prison...
...Glitter, 61, was the first foreigner to face a sex crimes trial in post-war Vietnam. He maintained his innocence and claimed he was teaching the girls English. He allowed them to stay overnight because they were scared of ghosts, he said.
As we noted last November when he was first charged:
Aged rocker Gary Glitter is under arrest, again, accused of sexual misconduct.
Glitter and every professional sports stadium manager should be jailed for life, charged with very bad taste, for his writing and the subsequent playing of an unimaginative, vapid tune known as 'Rock and Roll Part 2.'
I refuse to provide a link to anything associated with Glitter and this horrid piece of music fit for a 12 year old's garage band.
If you need a pounding piece of feel good music, check out Robert Palmer's Bad Case of Loving You (Doctor, Doctor). And its got lyrics:
Doctor Doctor give me the news
I've got a bad case of lovin' you
No pills' gonna cure my ill
I gotta bad case of lovin' you
