While Bush tries to excuse the NSA spying, Congressional Republicans are tampering with treason. AP reports, Congress Demands Phone Records Answers:
Sen. Wayne Allard, R-Colo., said NSA was using the data to analyze calling patterns in order to detect and track suspected terrorist activity, according to information provided to him by the White House. "Telephone customers' names, addresses and other personal information have not be handed over to NSA as part of this program," he said.
In other words, violating the law and subverting the Constitutional government of the American people is OK.
It is not OK. The Bush coup d'etat is well under way. These plutocrats are not going to stop. They know that the courts are either helpless or to slow to act and that a significant number of Americans support them.
Tragically, when the Bill of Rights is tested in real life situations, too many of our citizens, like Bush, are tolerant of flagrant transgressions. If we survive this crisis, education about the realities of freedom and the real meaning of the Pledge of Allegiance, with or without a god, is the top priority.
