The future for Allied Drive and the City of Madison appears bleak. WMTV-15 reported two nights ago:
Allied Drive Crowds a Growing Concern for Police
Madison police say they have needed to call for backup three times within the last week due to troublesome crowds of people in the Allied Drive neighborhood. And that's draining resources from other parts of the city.
Police report groups of 20 to 80 people shouting, sometimes pounding on squad cars while officers try to make an arrest...
This report is not from Milwaukee, or even the Town of Madison but the city of Madison, the self-avowed hotbed of progressive leadership. For those interested in verbose, lengthy analysis, go to Waxingamerica.com to any of my posts under the category of gangs.
For those who wish to be spared my past screeds:
It has been two months since the appointment of the much heralded Task Force Takes Aim At Gangs - they have yet to meet. What a waste of great talent. Communities need solid heath programs. Ask your council member why the much heralded Harambee, Ex-vice Presidential Candidate Edwards To Visit Mayor, Clinic , gets less money, not more, from a city with a $203 million operating budget. In fact, after a decade there should be two or three Harambees in Madison. Liberal Madison with its desire to set a minimum wage:
Has nothing resembling a career ladder program. No longer provides entry level jobs for teenagers. No longer partners with the private sector to create jobs and train adults who want to work, but lack the resume. Continues to talk a great 'housing' game and fails to provide the counseling, job development, family enhancement, and related educational and health support because there, "Isn't enough money." Can you say 'George W. Bush?'
I remember that coverage from last summer! I was here when many of the outbreaks took place and I saw people get arrested for disorderly conducts, once because someone told the police if they are going to wave their guns they should corral the small children who are running around playing - it was all a crazy mess. Things seem to have changed since then for the better. I have written about crime on Allied Drive on my blog as well (http://allieddrive.blogspot.com/search/label/crime) - we share many of the same prospectives ...
