In an effort to buy a seat on the Supreme Court, Wisconsin Manufacturers & Commerce has trotted out a disgraced and discredited study of the Wisconsin judicial system. In a briefing memo dated February 26, 2007, WMC cites an Institute for Legal Reform study that ranks Wisconsin 23rd and Texas 43rd in the quality of their judicial systems among the fifty sates.
Waxing America addressed this fraud in a post, May 16, 2006. WMC Doesn't Know When to Quit: Hypes Another Bogus "Study.
At that time WMC was hyping another phony study that ranked Texas first:
But here is the real kicker. This study ranks Texas first, as the best place for corporations to use the judicial system.
Here is the link to a press release WMC provided on March 27, 2006: Wisconsin Legal System Headed In the Wrong Direction. In that study, Texas was ranked 43rd! These guys are falling all over themselves trying to explain it. Questions and Answers Regarding: The U.S. Chamber Harris Survey and the Pacific Research Institute Study.
Yes, they shamelessly tout two studies where one ranks Texas 43rd and the other first, Vermont last and then Vermont 24th, Connecticut 5th and 44th.
WMC is shameless. Run a business like that with such lousy data, flawed studies and you go bankrupt before you can say, "I need another tax break."
Should it be surprising that WMC put out more faulty data when they also reported that Ziegler had only two appeals in her ten years as judge?
