President Bush:

Out of 226 nations, the United States ranks 184th with 6.50 deaths per 1000 live births. That places us worse than Cuba (186th), Italy (189), Greece (194), Monaco (195), Australia (207), japan (222), and heading the list with a rate 1/3rd the U.S,, Singapore (226th at 2.10/1,000).

U.S. Gun Laws Draw Heat After Massacre

The Virginia Tech shootings sparked criticism of U.S. gun control laws around the world Tuesday. Editorials lashed out at the availability of weapons, and the leader of Australia - one of America's closest allies - declared that America's gun culture was costing lives...

...world opinion over U.S. gun laws was almost unanimous: access to weapons increases the probability of shootings. There was no sympathy for the view that more guns would have saved lives by enabling students to shoot the assailant...

...Editorials were less diplomatic.

"Only the names change - And the numbers," read a headline in the Times of London. "Why, we ask, do Americans continue to tolerate gun laws and a culture that seems to condemn thousands of innocents to death every year, when presumably, tougher restrictions, such as those in force in European countries, could at least reduce the number?"

Are we really the model for the rest of the world to emulate?

Oh, and President Bush, those kids were in the right place at the right time. They were attending class on a school day.

``Those whose lives were taken did nothing to deserve their fate,'' the president said. ``They were simply in the wrong place at the wrong time. Now they're gone...

Bush is an idiot. If he did not write that speech, at least he should use his brain before he read it. Those students and teacher definitely in the right place at the right time. What is more important than to prepare oneself or educate others for the future? Their death should not be in vain. If Mr. Bush had the gut to tell Hollywood to cut down on violence on their movies, tell the game industry to reduce violent video games, set a tougher gun control law and educate himself and his Cabinet that war is not the key of peace but negotiation... those shooting victims were definitely in the right place at the right time.
According to his logic, he should make a speech everyday to the Iraqi and American soldiers who lose their lives in a wrong place at the wrong time. Do something, Bush. Admit your fault, apologize to the world, especially, to every Iraqi and American soldiers and families who suffer due to your selfish decision. And bring back the troops.

I heard on N.P.R. that guns should be like anti-depression medicine. We should all get mental examine before we can buy a gun….

Violent Video Games and Violent Entertainment …
People need blame but they do not take it.
They hide behind excuses.
Should we all start singing “I am a Jolly Green Giant.” And have machines that fine us if we cuss?
Video games and Television are making America’s children’s fat.
You hear it everyday one the what?
Television.

You watch it. Your choice. Your actions. No excuse. Don’t blame other’s actions on entertainment.
