Sometimes the Mayor and Council get one exactly right, and this is one of those decisions. Last night, the fourth annual Jeffrey Clay Erlanger Civility in Public Discourse Award was given to Rachel Krinsky, the Executive Director of The Road Home Dane County, a tremendous organization that develops housing programs for homeless families with children.
The award was created by the Mayor and Common Council to honor Jeff Erlanger, who died in 2007. Waxing America's 2007 tribute to Jeff is here. Rachel Krinsky is the perfect choice to honor Jeff, who she knew growing up in Madison, and whose "can-do" spirit she mirrors.
A donation to The Road Home Dane County would honor both Jeff Erlanger and Rachel Krinsky and assist a family towards housing, dignity and self-sufficiency.
