Statement by Paul Soglin on Judge Sumi’s Decision Granting a Temporary Restraining Order to Stop Implementation of the Walker Budget Repair Bill:
Dane County District Attorney Ish Ozanne did terrific legal work on behalf of all Wisconsin residents in winning a temporary restraining order that will block publication or other actions to implement the Budget Repair Bill. There is, of course, the possibility that the legislature will convene again, this time lawfully, and pass this bill. We must continue to do all we can to fix this legislation. As it stands, it would have terrible, negative consequences for Madison and the State of Wisconsin.
I see the TRO as an opportunity for both sides to come up with a better deal to keep the peace. The Judge did the right thing.

Message to Governor Walker
Thou does know that the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God...
...It is not wise to educate our children with people that are not certified teachers...
...It is not wise for the State not to pay for the ongoing training of our teachers to improve the education of our children...
...It is not wise to hold-back greatly improved educational results and costs savings by not making education on the internet available for more/all children.
You are a wise young man taking bold steps you believe will help improve the State. May the Lord be with you in this decision.
