I am delighted to congratulate the Madison Public Library for being named one of 10 recipients of the 2016 National Medal for Museum and Library Service! You may recall that the National Medal for Museum and Library Service is the nation’s highest honor, recognizing museums and libraries for exceptional service to their community and its needs. Through innovative efforts including Parents as First Teachers, Read Up!, Tell Us, and involvement in Madison’s Neighborhood Resource Teams, Madison Public Libraries have demonstrated a commitment to moving beyond the traditional library role into one focused on community engagement and participation.
To all those at the Madison Public Library, thank you for all that you have done and continue to do to make Madison a great place to live, work, learn and play! Keep up the good work!
